LMA Architects were appointed to design a replacement new build detached house. The clients brief required a new modern family home with large open plan areas with lots of natural daylight to flood internal spaces. Our design principle was to provide a contemporary design using a traditional form but using modern detailing. The impression of floating glazed gables balanced on a solid natural stone base give an alternative impression of the traditional house form.
Conversion into residential apartments required a sensitive approach respecting the existing buildings Art Deco inspired architecture.
